Festive Makeup Tips

Hi Beauties
Happy Holidays...
It's that time of the year and it's exciting pulling out the Christmas tree, decorating the house, wrapping gifts and dinning, all these really lifts the spirit but what I really look forward to is getting glam for the day, Hair & Makeup.....
In this post I will be sharing with you some festive makeup tips.

I love glitters and the holiday season offers the perfect opportunity to express that love, the festive season is the perfect time to try out a whole host of bold looks,    So I say be bold and let it sparkle.

Eyebrows.
The brows are noticeable at first so it is important to have a well trimmed brows.
Thin black pencil or overly bushy brows are dated looks that can be distracting rather than enhancing, the shape of the brows affects the appearance of the eyes in so many ways, the over all appearance   Of the eye area is defined by the arch, length and thickness of the eyebrows, so natural appearance is what you want to accomplish when shaping your brows.

False Lashes.
If you are not brave enough to wear dramatic lashes in other occasions, Christmas is the perfect time to put them on, they will make your eyes more noticeable, I will recommend human hair lashes over lashes made of synthetic hair, human hair lashes blend easily with the natural lash line and they take mascara much better than synthetic hair and they are even much more comfortable to wear.

Eyeshadow.
Its ok to experiment with eyeshadow colours for Christmas, but what really looks good is glitter fuse with some other Color like purple, blue, gold metallic or just shimmer eyeshadow are perfect for Christmas looks. If you are not much of a shimmer person add slight white / golden eyeshadow to the inner corner of the eyes this will brightens up the whole eyes instantly as seen in the picture above, am actually wearing glitters in the inner corner of my eyes.

Bronzer / Blusher.
Choose the Colors that works for you when it comes to bronzer / blusher, you want a bronzer that is not too dark or too strong, to get that sun kissed look apply bronzer with a light hand, building up in sheer layers. Remember a little goes a long way. Blusher should be applied on the apples of the cheeks, the aim is to add life to the whole ensemble.

Lipstick.
Red lips are for Christmas, if you are going for a dramatic look for Christmas it is good to put a dark red or deep mauve lipstick and shimmer gloss, you will look amazing. You know a deep red lips always comes with a warning so if you are going for a red lips this Christmas then I recommend you keep your eyes relatively simple with just a shine in the inner corner of the eyes or neutral eyes.

My Current Beauty Favourites

Hi Beauties.
Welcome to my blog.

I am back with some of my current beauty favourites / review some of these things I have had in my collection for a few month and some are completely brand new. As Christmas rolls around there's quite a few products giving me so much joy and I will like to share them with you.

1. Onsen Purifying Facial Peel.
This product is quite pricey but last forever, it exfoliate away dulling dead cells, uneven pigment and it gentle on the skin. I have to say I really like this product, it's my go to, in with my every day facial routine, leaves my face feeling like a baby wrapped in cashmere. I can't hype this product enough.

2. Ciate' London (Olivia Palermo)
          Blusher / Bronzer Duo.
I am sure you all know Ciate' London nail polish collection, well they now have makeup too. The bluff point are everything, the best part is that they are a duo, the packaging is gorgeous, yes I pay a lot of attention to details, I love the chic black and gold design, there's also a mirror inside, I love the colours, the formula feels fantastic on the skin. They are lightweight and semi-matte with and incredibly silky texture and if you have oily skin don't worry this duo are enriched with bamboo for oil-control. Bluff point is perfect if you have more of a cool-toned complexion. More so Ciate' London(Olivia Palermo) lipstick range are out, totally crushing on the lipsticks, well that will be a whole new post.

3. Beauty Muse Pro brush.
These brushes are very professional and are very affordable, pretty good price for brushes. The style of these brushes are very similar to the real techniques brushes, if you know me well, then you will know that the real techniques brushes are my fav brushes, however Beauty Muse Pro brushes are similar, synthetic bristles, coloured metal handles with a rubbery base. This brushes are very soft and not too dense, I have been using these brushes and I haven't experienced any shedding or bleeding while washing.

4. MAC Prep + Prime Fix.
I personally use it underneath my foundation to prime the face, it's moisturising and makes my foundation go on smoothly, I also use it on my blending brush to help blend eyeshadow in, it makes blending so easy. I also spray it all over my face after my makeup is done, it takes away powderiness and makes the layers of makeup on my face look like normal skin, I like my skin to still look alive even with layers of makeup on, it does just that and keeps my makeup in place all day.

5. L'oreal True Match Foundation.
I wasnt hyped about this foundation, it took me a while after I had purchased them before putting them to use. But it's good news cause this foundation is super blendable, with a creamy liquid texture, flawless finish and true to skin shades that matches the colour and texture of your skin. I love the fact that it comes in a 30ml glass bottle with a pump, yessss as a makeup artist I found pump easier to work with. I use this foundation on my clients, the results has been great, it has a great light to medium coverage, it covers redness and hyper-pigmentation without clinging to any dry patches.

6. Becca Cosmetics highlighter.
The famous Becca Cosmetics highlighter, so I finally got my mitts on this beauty. I have only used this product twice and I can tell you the formula is so smooth and soft, the pigmentation is so incredible that it last the whole day, this Becca cosmetics highlighter have super refined sheen, it a super buttery / soft and I can go on and on raving about this beauty, the Color is absolutely stunning, you only need a tiny bit, otherwise it can easily become ott if you aren't careful.

7. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish.
I have been using this powder for over a year, I absolutely adore this powder, it makes my skin look seamless, it's just perfect for me, blurs pores and the texture adds a subtle luminosity to the skin. This powder is perfect for setting foundation, I use this product on my client to blend out bronzer and contour, and it looks perfect in sunlight, this product last all day and doesn't get cakey or lined. It is a must have for me, I have nothing but love for this powder.

8. Nars Exumas Matte Multiple.
Save the best for the last kind of situation 😂😂 this product is a makeup artist best friend, ok I need to calm down, this product is so lush, pigmentation was very  true, this product works well on tan skin as a blush and it doesn't feel tacky or slick on the skin. I am not a fan of cream blush but the Exumas is bae, bae wore well for seven and was still on point. Using cream blush can be a lil difficult to get a flawless finish, I found the texture to be very blendable. For this type of texture I like applying with a stippling brush and then I like to pay with my finger, I use Exumas on the apples of my check, it can also go on as a lip Color, however make sure to apply a little lip balm before applying as a lip Color.

The products in the intro image that wasn't mention is this post are completely brand new and I do not have any take on it yet. But they are still giving me joy.
